I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed as a user of Nikon Eyewear’s new Z Series lenses — a groundbreaking line of reading glasses developed with the same optical technology used in Nikon cameras.I also had the opportunity to talk a little about my own work during the interview.
The Z Series lenses are progressive lenses developed with Nikon’s advanced optical design technology, with a particular focus on enhancing contrast.
In the interview, I shared my honest impressions after actually trying them.
As we age, our eyesight inevitably changes. We tend to either get used to the inconvenience, put up with it, or even resist the idea of reading glasses, thinking “I’m not that old yet.”
I was no exception—I had some prejudice against progressive lenses, worried about discomfort or dizziness. But after trying them myself, I was surprised by how natural they felt—just like wearing my regular nearsighted glasses.
In fact, I now realize how much strain I had been putting on my eyes all this time. These lenses have noticeably reduced that strain and made everyday life much more comfortable.

After the interview, something that really stayed with me were the words from Mr. N of Nikon Eyewear:“Our goal isn’t simply to sell glasses — we want people to know that these eye-friendly lenses exist.”And from Mr. K, I was also struck by his comment that “Wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes is something even doctors recommend.”
These messages left a deep impression on me.

If this interview reaches someone and offers even a little encouragement or insight, I would be truly happy.
Being able to see comfortably may seem like a small thing—but I’ve come to realize how deeply grateful I am for it.My sincere thanks to Nikon Eyewear, Mr. K, Mr. N, Mr. J, and photographer Mr. A for giving me this precious opportunity. ✨
(A little behind-the-scenes story)On the day of the shoot, my social awkwardness kicked in full force… I was sweating buckets and ended up looking, well, a bit shiny in the photos. 😅
If you look closely, you can even spot the sweat around my neck...Next time, I hope I can overcome my stage fright!
